Lumi fields, limits, and publishing controls
Lumi, a Shopify catalog cleanup app by Configurate, helps merchants find missing product content, review AI drafts, and publish approved updates.
From catalog gaps to approved Shopify updates
Check missing content, select products and fields, draft from product facts and images, compare and edit, publish approved work, then inspect records. Merchant-started batches create drafts. Existing content is skipped unless you choose to rewrite it. Maintain automation has separate settings.
Fields, inputs, and destinations
Inputs can be incomplete or wrong. Review claims against the source record and images before publishing.
| Draft | Inputs | Shopify destination / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Product description | Title, existing description, vendor, type, category, clearly named product metafields, variant options, and up to three product images. Brand voice shapes wording, not facts. | Product description HTML. Brands and variants are omitted by default unless allowed by writing rules. |
| Image alt text | Actual image; product title supports product-image context. Files may have less product context. | Product-image alt text or supported image files in Shopify Files. SVG excluded. Check the theme renders the saved alternative; this does not cover every image embedded in theme code. |
| SEO title | Product details and available product context, with selected writing settings. | Search engine listing page title, not the product title. |
| Meta description | Product details and available product context, with selected writing settings. | Search engine listing description. Search engines can shorten or replace the displayed snippet. |
Plans and credits
Credits count drafts, not products. Description: two credits. Each image alt, SEO title, or meta description: one. Regeneration spends additional credits.
| Offer | Allowance | Batch / check / scan |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 credits monthly, no rollover; English | 10 products per batch. Missing-content checks: up to 500 Online Store products, best sellers first. Scan: up to 10 pages every 30 days. |
| One-Time Cleanup | $79 once; 2,000 credits, valid 90 days | No per-batch product limit beyond credits. Full-catalog missing-content checks. One scan up to 100 pages. |
| Maintain | $19/month or $190/year; 500 credits each month, no rollover | 50 products per batch. Full-catalog missing-content checks. Scan: up to 200 pages every 14 days. |
Choose what changes
Every plan supports all four fields and review controls.
Existing content
Merchant-started runs skip populated fields unless you choose a rewrite. Compare current and proposed values, edit, regenerate, skip, or publish one item or a reviewed group. Inspect Shopify after publication.
Optional automation
Maintain automation is disabled initially. Once enabled, it initially publishes automatically; select saving drafts for prior review. It can draft selected fields on new products and missing image alt text after product updates. It fills only empty fields, uses Maintain monthly credits rather than Cleanup credits, and respects the selected monthly credit ceiling and available balance.
Languages and brand voice
One-Time Cleanup and Maintain add brand voice and generation in 17 languages, one selected writing language per store. Free drafts in English. Generating in a language does not manage Shopify Markets translations or translate the whole storefront.
A saved value is required for restoration
Uninstall is not an undo action.
Eligible publications
Descriptions, SEO fields, and supported product-image or Files alt text published through Lumi can be restored when the previous value was saved. Older publications without that value are unavailable. Later Shopify edits, newer Lumi publications, and removed targets can block restoration. Review each item in a run; partial outcomes are possible.
Export and handoff
Published-change CSV exports are available on every plan, including before and after values when saved. Completed-alt-text exports require eligible paid access. Neither export is a whole-store backup or an automatic re-import. Save the records securely before uninstalling.
Before uninstall
Restore eligible publications and verify them in Shopify first if you want to revert. Published content stays after uninstall, while Lumi records and saved previous values are removed. Restoration uses no credits and does not refund generation credits; republishing restored content requires a new draft.
Automated findings on the pages reached
Installed-app scan allowances differ from public sample tools and catalog checks.
Coverage
Public, non-development Shopify storefronts only. Automated checks sample reachable pages up to the plan allowance. The scan identifies issues Lumi can help address with product-image alt text and issues for a developer. It does not certify accessibility, ADA, EAA, or WCAG compliance.
No overlay
Lumi updates Shopify content fields. It does not add a storefront accessibility overlay, repair every theme issue, or replace keyboard, screen-reader, and human content testing.
